Great Interview and great advice!
Keep calm in every situation.
If is not illegal or immoral Do IT!
What makes a great agent is a combination of entrepreneurship + discipline.
I like the notes you took Guillermo.
Great interview. Among many important thing that both said I like what Alicia Cervera Lamadrid said regarding the time that she dedicates to think everyday and the results that she has gotten since she adapted this conduct.
Great Interview, I learned so much of it.
-Remain calm in hard times.
– Deal with the emotions, you need to listen your clients and be focus.
– Study all the angles and alternative.
– Show up and get potential solutions.
– Marketing organization and identify the right product.
-Not to be afraid, every challenge will be an opportunity to be successful. More success leads to more goals.
– To be a great agent should have discipline and entrepreneurship (be creative).
Great summary Maria,
Thank you!
Wow! Impressive and very articulate women. I think they are my new idols.
so much to take away from this interview
being willing to fail, to reinvent, comfort zone is the sign to make a change, have discipline and entrepreneurial (creative) skills.
Both are impressive. No fear, always willing to take new challenges. Keep in mind that when Alicia Sr. started in the business there were no Hispanics and no real estate market in Miami which made it even more difficult to build the type of business they have today. Miami wasn’t the city it is today
What really caught my attention and I liked was how Alicia Cervera Jr. said that no matter whats is going on you just have to show up everyday and take it head on, how with opportunities you’re going to have challenges but with challenges you will have opportunities, and that if you are comfortable you have to do something new or different to feel uncomfortable because when you feel uncomfortable many times is when we grow. Awesome perspective from a superb business woman.
Great interview! Many things resonated with me but I will group some of them in 3 bullets:
– You have to be in line with the market, reinvent yourself and be willing to fail. To stay in front of things you need to be creative
– Time is of the essence. When you are working, you are only as good as the job you do.
– Take risks. Ask! Don’t be afraid, with every opportunity there is challenge. With every challenge comes an opportunity.
I want to be like them!
Great professionals, and models to follow. In every phrase, a lesson to learn.
Thank you for share your successfull stories.
Now, more than ever, I will not be afraid!
I learned a lot from this interview!
1. Show up everyday and work your hardest, be the first in and the last to leave.
2. Keep CALM!
3. There are no opportunites without challenges and With every challenge comes an opportunity.
Keep CALM, love that advice
Loved this interview, definitely a role model, these women love what they do and you can tell the passion they have.
Great advices:
Show up everyday
Plan your business
Practice
Learn something new everyday
Positioning yourself
Find a mentor
Get outside of your comfort zone.
Also, loved
“Everybody knows somebody”, and if is not illegal or immoral do it !
Great summary Monica,
Thank you!!!
Orlando excellent interview, I gave a great information about the different eras of real estate even where there was crisis and how they got alternatives and options to achieve positive business.definitely highlighted important points: focus on business, love what you do, have a product and a specific area to work and get most import information and knowledge to advise clients properly. Organization, discipline and perseverance.
Thank you for the comment Mariela!
This interview was a great knowledge’s source for me,
1. In difficult times (crisis), remain calm and transfers it to your clients.
2. It’s very important to listen to your clients – Study all the angles –
3. To have marketing orientation: Identify clients and products-
4. New agents should be focused in an specific area – learn about the market and follow the leaders in that type of market.
5. Show up every day and finish your to do list every day – find a mentor
6. Miami is still a young city – We have tremendous opportunities moving forward
7. Tenemos que reinventarnos constantemente – Mientras mas creces, mientras mas exitoso eres, mayores retos enfrentaras y debes estar preparado.
8. A good agent has to show discipline and entrepreneurship
9. Salir de tu zona de confort te hara crecer mas.
10 The Alicia Sr secret is” To feel passion for what you do!
I’ve always liked the saying that goes “get comfortable being uncomfortable”, but Alicia Jr.’s recommendation that you should worry when getting too comfortable and always try to find a way of getting uncomfortable again, just changed my whole perspective of it. Great interview and great topics.
Thank you for the comment Elias. The only way to grow is by being uncomfortable.
Every challenge comes with a opportunity
No to be afraid to ask
That makes Miami is the people
What makes a good agent is the discipline and entrepreneur
Great interview!
What a great interview! So many lessons learned.
Top 3:
1. As soon as you become comfortable figure out how to become uncomfortable because that’s how you grow.
2. Freedom is great only if you don’t abuse it.
3. In the office there’s the possibility of an opportunity.
Great Interview. What I liked the most is when she says there is always an opportunity on a challenge moment, I can totally relate to the moment I am now, with the slow Brazilian market.
I actually watched this back in February when I woke up at 4 am and couldn’t fall back asleep…..
These are amazing ladies in real estate and overall…filled with great information and interesting historical facts including the upbringings of some of the top developers in South Florida today (George Perez)…
Too many great points but some of my favorite points are:
– Ask for things and people (Don’t be intimidated by people’s success)
-Study all the angles in a situation
-Innovation is KEY
-Show up everyday / Just do it
-Stop and THINK sometimes.
-Position yourself as the expert in specific 1)area 2)clients 3)type of properties. Basically FOCUS
-Think and do OUTSIDE THE BOX (important)
-Get out of your comfort zone
SIMPLY AMAZING !!!
Great summary Peter. Thank you!
I like it a lot!!!
No matter what’s going on just show up everyday
Be focus in a specific area
Great agents have discipline and entrepeneurship
if you are in a confort zone figure out how to become unconfortable to continuing growing

My pleasure !!!! I’m glad you learned
Super amazing interview specially when these two great ladies are part of the real-estate history of Miami.
3 things:
– you can’t sell what you don’t market. ( its a business of marketing)
– keys to success: entrepreneurship and discipline ( always show up and innovate, or create )
– Always think outside the box

3 THINGS I LEARNED:
1. To be successful you must “SHOW UP” everyday, commitment and discipline are not only important, but mandatory.
2. “That with every challenge came an opportunity and there were never opportunities without challenges.” I LOVE this quote.
3. Once you position yourself in your niche market, find the leader in said market and go work for them.
